剧情：
平凡的小伙子乔伊（劳伦斯·哈维 Laurence Harvey 饰）爱上了含着金汤匙出生的千金大小姐苏珊（简·西蒙斯 Jean Simmons 饰），虽然这段感情遭到了女方家人的强烈反对，但两人最终还是排除了万难携手步入婚姻的殿堂。然而，婚后的生活却并不如乔伊想象中的那么幸福。乔伊进入了苏珊父亲经营的公司里上班，常常遭到上司和同僚的冷嘲热讽，工作的十分不愉快，另一方面，他和妻子的价值观相差巨大，两人常常爆发激烈的争吵。
